ROSE FROM CONCRETE SEASON 0 (SPRING/SUMMER)
The Name Pasquiat is derived from the artistic impressions of Pablo Picasso & Jean Michael Basquiat. Pablo Picasso was a Spanish painter who was a leader of modern art that painted with a naturalistic unique style of painting in specific emotions. Jean Michael Basquiat was of Haitian and Puerto Rican descent and his art focused on dichotomies such as wealth versus poverty, integration versus segregation, and inner versus outer experience. He battled adversity throughout his life dying at the age of 27. Clint has felt a connection to both of these artists: Pablo Picasso’s creation of art through emotion, and Jean Michael Basquiat’s adversities in relation to his environments affected his art. With the brand, Clint hopes to bring the audience along for a marathon of creativity that may inspire them to feel a sense of individuality through his signature handmade pieces. Clint works alongside his team domestically to source fabrics & bring materials to life.
Pasquiat Season 0 “Rose From Concrete” is derived from inspirations from Pablo Picasso & Jean Michael Basquiat. Pablo Picasso was a Spanish painter who was a leader of modern art that painted with a naturalistic unique style of painting in specific emotions. The pieces are a product of the subjective emotions Clint was feeling at the time, where Clint felt as if he was in a concrete state of emotions and unable to feel anything. The rose signifies the beauty that is sustainable as well as seasonal. Roses are one of Clint’s favorite flowers because of their vibrant unique characteristics: roses are plants that have such beauty and a will to thrive that they have the ability to sprout from concrete. The “Rose From Concrete” name is thus derived from my creativity representing the “rose” and my emotions at the time being “concrete”. Although this is Clint’s first line/season, it is labeled “Season 0”. The line consists of luxury fabrics, sustainable horticulture materials, and innovative multi-use pieces.
