MAYA CHARBIN
Inspired by unfamiliar places, objects, and experiences, Maya Charbin has always been driven to discover the unknown. Born in Lebanon and based in Toronto, her design aesthetic is reflective of a global influence. Maya developed her unique signature “Versatile Silhouettes” influenced by Japanese culture flawlessly blended with multinational spirits.
Maya is a storyteller and her garments speak to the audience, bringing to light a charming, diaphanous woman, with a strong sense of creativity. She is continuously following her inspirations, which takes her to the most unexpected places, creating fashion stories with abnormality flowing from them, broadcasting the message of strong morals and forgotten values in innovative, post-contemporary way.
Previously finding a creative outlet in her employment as a make-up artist with MAC Cosmetics, Charbin’s relentless passion for design drove the mother of two to return to school and explore her childhood dream. Graduating from Esmod International University Group, Charbin was the recipient of three awards. Her graduation collection was selected for display in Beirut’s largest department store.
Charbin made her debut during Fashion Art Toronto in April 2015.
