STEPHEN M. LOBAN: HARLEQUIN
HARLEQUIN is an editorial inspired by historical Italian theatrical characters. The first form of professional theatre, known as Commedia dell’arte, marked an important time for the development of Italian costume and formal fashion, influenced by characters such as the Pierrot and Harlequin. The 18th century was a vital period in development of Italian marionette theatre, a popular form of entertainment among aristocratic groups.
ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
For as long as I remember I have always been interested in capturing images that make people look. Described as “deeply zealous about my photographic work” and “consistently creates images that are inspiring and inventive”, my eye tries to catch that moment with the click of the shutter. Intelligence, sophistication, truth, are all elements I look for when taking pictures. The creation of mood or attitude that embraces the person or brand and tells a story. The mood I try to create is different to all who view it, and that is what makes my photography so unique. I feel as an artist, I should always be growing, trying new things, pushing my abilities and equipment. Push the boundaries along with my desire to evolve. My images are immersed in diversity and I am delighted to be able to produce a wide range of work with reaching resonation.
